1. I was excited to find a web site with a German version of the Böger family history in Lippe-Detmold by Helmut Boeger of Osnabrueck. A partial English translation is available at that web site for small portions of the original version. But having an appetite for more information on Lippe-Detmold, I dusted off my German and set to the task of making a complete English translation.

2. A truly excellent book for understanding the thoughts and actions of the early immigrants from Lippe-Detmold is the book, The Lippe-Detmolder Settlement in Wisconsin by Jerome B. Arpke, Germania Publishing Co. 1895. The book is long out-of-print. An English translation is available.

3. A very good web site is being constructed at www.nhv-ahnenforschung.de which tells of research currently being done in Lippe-Detmold on the immigrants.

4. Another web site connected to Lipper Settlers who came to Wisconsin is with Clark County at wvls.lib.wi.us/ClarkCounty/clark/ClarkCountyLippeSettlement.htm.

5. A massive resource and a labor of love is the 2 volume book by Avis L. Werhman Schlintz, entitled Genealology of Descendents of Wehrmann Progenitors from Lippe Detmold and Related Familes from Hanover and Other Areas of Germany.  As far as I know, this book is out of print.

6. A book with a smaller family focus, but no less a labor of love, is Marten Family Album, which was focuses almost exclusively on the Marten family in Sheboygan County.

8.  History of Sheboygan County Wisconsin Past and Present, by Carl Ziller, Editor, The S.J. Clarke Publishing Company, Chicago 1912.

9.  Die Auswanderer aus dem Furstentum Lippe, By Fritz Verdenhalven. This is a two volume set. I do not have copies of these books, but the information was communicated to me by Simone at www.nhv-ahnenforschung.de.
