Johann Frederick Wilhelm Böger (Frederick Reineking) was born, 1789 at Möllenbeck. Johann Frederick's father was Johann Henrich Böger from Möllenbeck (ref. 3)

Johann Frederick married Maria Sophia Bilstein Reineking, June 10, 1816 at Langenholzhausen, Lippe-Detmold.

Maria Sophia was previously married to Hans Heinrich Reineking. Hans Heinrich died November 2 1815. Maria Sophia married Johann Frederick Wilhelm Böger. Johann Frederich took the name Reineking and was known as Frederick Reineking.

Frederick's occupation was listed as a carpenter in Lippe-Detmold.

Frederick and Maria were listed as living in the village of Langenholzhausen from their marriage day to 1833. In 1833 Frederick and Maria purchased a property on the edge of Langenholzhausen where they built a farm home. The following inscription was above the door of their farm home.

"Im Jahre 1833 hatte Reineking geborn Böger, eln nues Haus bauen lassen."

The following inscription was over the archway of the door.

"Anno 1833 den 3 Mai daben Frederick Böger and Sophia Bilstein Dies Haus bauen lassen.

Mit Gott in uner Jigen Sach

Anfang und das Dafurwoll man Gott danken sall"

Another inscription was at another door of the farm home, called the Lower Door.

"Anno 1833 der Eingang and der Ausgang mein sall der Gott befohlen sein"

In 1847, conditions in Lippe-Detmold were becoming increasingly difficult for people to make a living. Prompted by reports from America, especially an Evangelical Reformed pastor named Rev. Winters, that life could be better across the Atlantic Ocean, a small group of people decided to travel to America and make a new life.

Frederick Reineking is listed in all the accounts as the "leader" of the group. The exact reason that he was the "leader" seems to be lost in history. Perhaps he financially sponsored some or most of the other people who made the trip with him. He was very generous in Wisconsin when he donated land for a church building and later for an Evangelical Reformed school and seminary. The people that traveled in the original group, by all accounts, were poor.

Perhaps, he was simply a person who everyone in the group trusted. He is documented as bartering for the entire group in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, when they were purchasing land in Sheboygan County.

Or perhaps still, he may have simply been a man with a huge heart and sympathetic soul who was ready and willing to help those in need who were around him. He is listed in the burial records at Immanuel Church in Sheboygan County  as "Vater Reineking."

In the Town of Herman in Wisconsin, Frederick had the first German Evangelical Reformed church built on his land in 1850. He was paid for the land in 1851. In 1861, Frederick donated 10 acres of land for a seminary known as the Mission Haus, or Mission House. The seminary moved to Minnesota in the 1950s, but there still is a school there called Lakeland College.

Frederick Reineking died in September 1861while cutting down trees on his land in the Town of Herman, Sheboygan County. He was struck by a falling tree. Frederick is buried in an area that has unmarked graves about 200 meters north of Immanuel Church in the Town of Herman, Sheboygan County. Recently a stone marker was erected for all the unmarked graves at that site.

Frederick's was entirely covered with forest. The trees had to be cut down before any kind of farming could occur. Frederick died when he was 72 years old. What a guy! He was cutting down trees at age 72!

A picture of Frederick Reineking and Maria Bilstein Reineking, probably taken in the 1830's early in the development of photography.

Frederick and Maria lived at the Reineking home in Langenholzhausen, Lippe-Detmold. This home is probably the one with the inscriptions described above.

Other pictures are in the picture galleries

They had five children born in Langenholzhausen.

1. Caroline A. H., born 1817

2. Catherine A., born 1819

3. Frederick Herman, born 1823

4. Simon Heinrich Adolf, born 1825

5. Frederick Wilhelm, born 1828

The entire family emigrated to Sheboygan County , Wisconsin, USA in 1847. Prior to their departure from Lippe-Detmold, they had a family picture taken.

In the center of the picture is Frederick and Maria. Sitting on the right is Simon and on the left is Frederick Herman. Standing from left to right, Caroline, Fredrick Wilhelm, and Catherine.
