go up: Johann Albert Marten's parents Corrections, comments, and questions sent to the email address at the bottom of the page are very welcome. Johann Albert Marten and Lydia Neuhaus had three children. 2.7.1 Paul Marten Paul and Viola took over the Marten family farm in the Town of Herman and ran it until their retirement. They had three children, one of whom ran the farm until his retirement. Now a grandson continues to run the Marten family farm as a prosperous operation. The Marten homestead has been in the Marten family and has been a working dairy farm from the time of the original Lipper Settlers in 1847 until the present day. 2.7.2 Irma Marten 2.7.3 Hilda Lydia Marten If you follow all the family lines, Hilda and Paul were both descended from the original Lipper Settlers and were related to each other as second cousins. The fact that they were related shows the close ties many of the Lipper descendants felt even several generations after the original Lipper Settlers arrived.
