Franz Dietrich Karl Wehrmann's parents Almost all of the information here comes from reference 5. Franz Dietrich Karl Wehrmann was born February 17 1787 in Langenholzhausen, Lippe-Detmold. He was christened February 25 1787 at the Langenholzhausen church. Franz Dietrich Karl married Anna Marie Maulthaupt in 1813. They are listed in records as living in Tevenhausen which is a short (~3-5 km) from Langenholzhausen. Franz Dietrich Karl was listed as a Hoppenplöcker (hops picker) and Strassenköller (street worker). Franz Dietrich Karl and Anna Marie were not among the original Lipper settlers to the Town of Herman, but two of their children were. Frederick Karl Werhmann and Katherine Louise Wehrman traveled as brother and sister to the Town of Herman in 1847. They are listed as entry #17 in the list of original Lipper Settlers. Franz Dietrich Karl and Anna Marie came to the Town of Herman in 1851 with most of the rest of their children. Anna Marie died three weeks after arriving in the Town of Herman. She was buried at an unknown location on the Reineking farm in 1851. Franz Dietrich Karl lived with his daughter and son-in-law, Katherine Louise and Simon Heinrich Adolf Reineking on the Reineking homestead until his death in 1861. He was buried near his wife's grave at an unknown location on the Reineking farm. On a personal note, I spent many summers and weekends as a child on the Reineking homestead, and I ran over virtually every inch of the property at some time or another. I have suspicions where the graves may be located, but no absolute proof. Franz Dietrich Karl Werhmann and Anna Marie Maulthaupt had 10 children, all born in Tevenhausen and christened at the Langenholzhausen church. Children
1. Frederick Karl Wehrmann
2. Sophia Louisa
Wehrmann Sophia Louisa Wehrmann did not come to America with the rest of the family in 1851. She and Herman Heinrich Simon Plöger lived in Heidelbeck after their marriage. No children are listed by this marriage.
3. Heinrich Wehrmann
4. Katherine Louise Wehrmann
5. Anna Maria
Dorothea Wehrmann She came to the Town of Herman in about 1851. She was dead by the time letters were written between the family members in America and Lippe-Detmold in 1865. There is nothing written about her death in Immanuel Church or Saron Church records in the Town of Herman. The conclusion is that she died before church records were made in the Town of Herman. Thus, her death would have been shortly after she arrived in the Town of Herman, and she died approximately the same time as her mother, Anna Marie Maulthaupt. She may well be buried very near her mother and father in an unknown location on the Reineking farm.
6. Johann Frederich
Conrad Wehrmann Johann Frederich Conrad Wehrmann did not come to America with the rest of the family in 1851. He lived in Lemgo and also perhaps Horstmar. He was a teacher in Horstmar. There are transcripts of letters that Johann Frederich Conrad Wehrmann sent to his family in the Town of Herman in 1865 and 1866.
